Speak Up is a nonprofit street magazine in Charlotte. Street magazines and newspapers give jobs and a voice to homeless and marginalized people. They’re sold exclusively by homeless and at-risk vendors who function like micro-businesses and earn a liveable income.

The Free Store is a place to bring what you want to give and take what you need to live. We have had adult and children’s clothing, shoes, books, toys, appliances and gobs of other stuff. It is also a space to talk and share and to express our common concern and support for each other.

Hours of operation: Tues. and Thur. 11am-2pm, Saturday 10am-5pm

For after hour drop-offs please place your things on sidewalk in front of The Free Store.

Specializing in hand-crafted jewelry with stones derived from around the world, while also carrying an eclectic blend of handbags.

They chose Area 15 because it is a work in progress, much like Moazen itself. Area 15 attracts a wide variety of people, each participating in the growth of the community.

24/7 Urban Prayer Space

The burning bush that caught the eye of a guy named Moses was really just an on-ramp, a culturally relevant means to get the attention in ways that lead to conversation with God. Moses walked toward that bush out of curiosity & peaked interest, but he walked away with an authentic God-encounter, & a mad mission to cultivate friendship with God & help bring justice & generosity to a people in great need. 24-7, an urban burning bush, is made up of branches/people from all over the city.

Called to be a resource for the churches & a refuge for the spiritually hungry, 24-7 uses intensely creative & culturally relevant on-ramps to instigate intimacy with God & involvement in social justice, it’s what we do. It’s all we do. This Charlotte 24-7 is a local branch of a global prayer movement called 24-7Prayer.
